Poised and determined to drive the revival of the Philippine agriculture, Agbeam Farms Incorporated is a unique organization that focuses on promoting and expanding dragon fruit farming in the country.
Our team has had over 20 years of collective experience in dragon fruit production, fruit & vegetable distribution, food processing, and logistics. We’ve studied every nook and cranny of the business, and we’ve had first-hand involvement in resolving all sorts of challenges expected from the industry.
With our expertise, we plan to develop 1,000 hectares of dragon fruit plantations in the next four years.
We’re aiming to serve as a conduit to the successful revival of Philippine agriculture and establish the Philippines as a globally recognized front-runner in dragon fruit farming.
We are committed to introduce Dragon Fruit as a high value crop which will:
a. Be globally competitive in terms of production and technology
b. Uplift the lives of Filipino farmers
c. Create more rewarding opportunities for Filipinos
What gives us a competitive edge is the meticulous process we exercise in farming, fruit picking, packing, and transporting products. It allows us to produce consistently fresh and sweet-tasting fruit.
Agbeam follows international standards in orchard management to guarantee its farms’ sustainability and safety. We give detailed attention to every factor that impacts the fruit’s quality and yield at each stage of the crop.
We check the fruit’s maturity carefully before harvest to ensure that it is picked in peak condition, and hence, will ripen perfectly by the time it gets to consumers. We conduct rigorous quality checks before packing, and the fruit is immediately transported distributors for consistent freshness.
We recognize that the key to effective cultivation is the harmonious synchronization of all aspects of farming—usage of the right inputs, proper crop management practice, a sound farming strategy. But to be able to synthesize all these well and allow the crop to achieve its maximum potential, a certain level of understanding of dragon fruit is required. Agbeam, through our vast experience, research, and years of trial and error, has already achieved this expertise and has found the ultimate formula for successful production.
Agbeam’s founder and president, Luis Macalincag, grew up under the tutelage of his grandfather, Victor Macalincag. His grandfather’s influence nurtured Luis’s early love for farming. It was out of Luis’s great admiration and respect for his grandfather that he started referring to him as Don Victor.
With undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of the East, Don Victor had a full and successful career in both the private and public sectors.
He served as Chairman of AZ Development Managers Inc, of One Wealthy Nation Fund Inc., and of the Land Bank of the Philippines. He also served as President of the Philippine Export Import Credit Agency, and the Executive Vice President of Pilipinas Bank.
His work caught the eye of then, Secretary of Finance, Eduardo Romualdez, who invited him to join the government and serve the public. He was soon appointed as the Undersecretary (Deputy Minister) of Finance and the National Treasurer.
A brilliant negotiator who frequently confounded international counterparts on their own logic, econometric models, and statistics, he was the ideal civil servant—he held national interest supreme, was second to none in his field of expertise, and a role model when it comes to work ethic. He was driven, dedicated, meticulously detail-oriented, and nurturing to his staff.
With his unquestionable competence and integrity, his strong understanding of the political economy, and his prevailing enthusiasm, acuity, and good humor, Don Victor was able to serve under Presidents Marcos, Aquino, Ramos and Estrada.
He was highly regarded in business circles and when he retired from government in 2001, he invited to join several corporate boards—Semirara Mining and Power Corporation, Republic HoldingsCorporation, Alphaland Corporation, and Crown Equities Inc., to name a few.
He had an unsullied public and private reputation,
proving that one can rise to the top and stay there
through simple merit.
Today, Victor Macalincag’s legacy lives on through the Don Victor brand and through the business and advocacy initiatives of his grandson, Luis.
Don Victor Farms takes pride in producing the best harvest in terms of quality and quantity. This is our Double Q formula.
